Crestwood has held a General Contractors Liscense in the state of California since 2005. Our firm has been licensed in the state of Nevada since 2013 and holds an unlimited monetary limit as it relates to project costs.

Crestwood focuses and specializes on building intricate modern, mountain modern and craftsman homes on Lake Tahoe, throughout the greater Tahoe Basin into the Carson Valley.

does Crestwood specialize in a specific design style?

No. Primarily and generally, Crestwood is sought and requested to construct one of three primary platforms of architecture: Modern, Mountain Modern and craftsmen ship style of architecture disciplines. Our portfolio includes architecture language that reaches opposite ends of one spectrum to the other, all built to become generational properties.

what is the duration to build a custom home in the Tahoe basin?

Project timelines vary drastically depending on project size, number of structures, complexity, topography, and other associated factors. Weather conditions specific to the Tahoe region can accelerate or cripple a projects schedule. The duration for a custom home can typically be expected to range 22-36 months from groundbreaking through completion. 

does crestwood provide remodeling and home addition services?

Yes. Our company is regularly performing remodeling services on homes and constructing additions on homes for clients.

is building in the Tahoe Basin unique vs. other regions?

Yes. Building in the Tahoe region requires specialized construction expertise due to such factors as heavy snow loads, strict environmental regulations, challenging terrain, and seasonal weather constraints compared to that of fair-weather climate regions. Does crestwood collaborate with remote architects, interior design firms and project consultants?  

Yes. Typically, and as a standard, Crestwood is retained at the inception of a project at the time the architect & engineer firms are secured. Crestwood regularly partners with leading architects and interior design firms throughout the Tahoe region & nationally from Las Angelas to New York. We lean heavily on the value of collaboration to integrate early with design teams and consultants to align vision, constructability, and team cohesion.

How Does crestwood approach budgeting?

Diligently. We provide detailed, transparent cost breakdowns and ongoing budget tracking throughout the build process. All costs are 100% transparent. Our goal is clarity, alignment, and informed decision-making at every stage through regular Owner - Architect - Contractor (OAC) meetings. 

what is included in pre-construction services? 

Through the pre-construction services phase of a project, we guide clients through feasibility assessments, work closely with your architect and engineer to test building design feasibility, provide associated costs to assemblies. We provide pre-construction planning, permit coordination, build budgets and schedules helping establish a clear path from concept to construction through project completion.

Is crestwood engaged with our home after completion?

Yes. Client relationships continue far past Ownership occupancy. Post project completion is a large piece of our company’s foundation and core values. Today, we continue service clients that completed their homes over 25 years ago. We pride ourselves in maintaining as a resource for ongoing home maintenance, seasonal readiness, and ongoing home support throughout the life of the homes we construct for our clients. Building and maintaining client relationships is paramount for Crestwood.

What is the size of crestwoods firm?

Our firm has consistently maintained a size of 40-50 employees for that past decade. We prefer to stay at our maintained size to focus on quality, not quantity.

What is crestwoods company structure?

Our core staff has been working alongside one another for over a decade. The average tenure of a site superintendent is 11 years, project management personnel 10 years, accounting team members, 13 years and carpentry crews is over 9 years with the company and counting. Turnover of our firm’s family of personnel is extremely low at Crestwood. 

does crestwood have experience working under Non disclure agreements, (nda’s)?

Yes. Our Company has a deep understanding of our discriminating clientele and their privacy. We often work under NDA agreements, family office personnel and owner’s representatives.  

has crestwood completed projects that are not presented in the portfolio of work on the website? 

Yes. Our company has a separate portfolio of completed of projects that are not available for preview on our website platform. A portion of these projects can be reviewed in person at the company’s offices.
